Jesus stated in the book of Matthew chapter 24 “as the days of Noah, would the coming of the son of man be”. This is a broad and open-ended statement. What is being implied? Is it just one type behavior, a spiritual attribute, or a combination of many similarities. I would have to concur with a combination of similarities. Wouldn’t it be intriguing if during this time period of Matthew chapter 24, the remains of Noah’s Ark was discovered. Getting an affirmation in the “Heavens” as to well done good and faithful servant, to the very man who helped discover it and shared it to the World!
This is what I am proposing for Ron Wyatt and his 2 sons during mid-month August 1977, and a trip to Turkey they took 48 years ago. Ron Wyatt is well known Biblical Archeologist. Some of his supernatural discoveries include the Red Sea Crossing location of Moses, the true Mt. Sinai in Saudi Arabia, and the Ark of the Covenant. Ron Wyatt is reported to have done over 100 trips to the Biblical lands of Asia Minor and the Middle East. The main point to this article is to shed light on his first trip in search of Noah’s Ark. It was the year of 1977, the month was August and the location was Dogubeyazit Turkey. The mission was to investigate a mound of dirt arising from the earth, that had similarities to the length of Noah’s Ark (510 feet). What intrigued Ron’s imagination was aerial surveillance photographs compiled by the United States Military during the 1950’s. The military was looking for possible Russian missile launch sites in the mountain ranges of Ararat which borders Russia, Turkey, & Iran. One of the aerial photographs revealed somewhat of an unusual structure, as if it appeared to be rising out of the ground. The land mass symmetry did not appear to be of a natural origin in conjunction with the surrounding terrain. This intriguing photo led to further investigation in 1960 by an expeditionary group. Searching to find out if this was a natural formation or something from the past that might have been buried over time. The findings of this 1960 expedition did not come up with any concrete conclusions to the way of Ron’s Biblical thinking. Ron had earned 2 weeks of paid vacation, and decided to use this vacation time to travel to Turkey. This way he could investigate for himself.
Ron and his 2 sons departed on Monday, August 8th 1977, destination – Dogubeyazit Turkey, the closest town to the 1960 expedition site. The 3 Wyatt family members left together, literally trying to find a needle in the haystack. With nothing more than a few clues from previous conversations Ron had with some of original members the 1960 expedition. The Wyatt family was embarking on a journey to find Noah’s Ark. How could Ron and his 2 boys come across a 510-foot length mound of dirt, amongst the hundreds of square miles in the mountain ranges of Mt. Ararat? Only one answer – BUT GOD.
Just the Facts:
Per this link – Ron and his boys arrived on Tuesday August 9th 1977. It took 3 days of ground logistics buying tickets and a long train ride, traversing the countryside of Turkey. Ron and the boys had landed in Ankara which is in Western Turkey. They needed to travel east to the furthest eastern part of Turkey which borders Iran. Ron and his boys arrived on Friday August 12th, 1977 in the town of Dogubeyazit. They arrived with the plan to rent horses and ride in mountain ranges for clues with information from the 1960 expedition. Since it was Friday a Muslim Holy day, the locals did not want to rent them their horses, strike one. But they managed meet a pair of local guides who were emphatic about showing them some of the interesting rock formations in the area. At the very end of their stay in Dogubeyazit these same guides would later be involved trying to rob them as they were getting ready to check out of their local hotel room. Ron’s diary of events of his first trip, help to establish that God’s providential hand was behind his efforts in finding the remains and the resting place of Noah’s Ark. One of these providential circumstances was, enroute to their destination and hotel room. Ron and the boys were riding in a taxi going thru the wilderness, wondering to themselves, where in earth are they even going to begin to look? Ron said they should all pray together asking God for a Sign. About 5 minutes later after praying while they approached the Dogubeyazit area, their taxi motor engine began to stall and quit. Ron discerning at the time – this was a sign from God. So, as the taxi driver went out lifting the hood to find the problem, Ron and the boys piled up a mound of rocks by the roadside to mark the location. Miraculously the taxi restarted in a few minutes. The taxi motor stalled again another two more times after running a few minutes then stalling and restarting. Each location the taxi stalled, Ron and his boys would get out of the taxi and mark the location by placing a pile of rocks near the roadway. They would use these as markers on the land over the next 3 days as starting points to walk into the mountain range. Hoping of finding evidence of the Noah’s Ark, figuring it was a sign from God to explore.
On the first day they found the Ark’s Counter Weight Stones used to steady the ark in rough seas. On day two, Noah’s homesite and Noah’s Wife’s grave site were found. Finally on day three, the big prize – the location of the 510 feet long mound of earth rising from the ground. After the third day of investigation, it was time to begin the trip back home since it takes three days to return to Ankara, then catching a flight back home, which takes 14 hours by air – nonstop. The logistics of traversing Turkey was cumbersome in 1977, and aviation did not have nonstop flights from America directly landing in the Middle East as we do today.
By Ron’s journal of their timeline, they arrived Tuesday August 9th in Ankara Turkey. Three days were spent traveling east across the country. They arrived Friday August 12th in Dogubeyazit. Once in Dogubeyazit they had three days of investigation of the 3 rock mounds that were left along the road of the stalled Taxi trip into the city. That takes the timeline up to Monday August 15th 1977. This is date when Ron and the boys began heading back to Ankara Turkey to catch a flight back to America. They arrived back in Ankara on Thursday August 18th taking a picture of the local newspaper showing Elvis Presley had passed away 2 days before their arrival on Tuesday August 16th. Besides the numerous God Affirming miracles from Ron’s diary of the trip, what I am about to connect to this story is mind boggling. To my knowledge and research, there has never been connection of Ron Wyatt’s discovery of Noah’s Ark and the most unusual radio signals ever received from space – The WOW signal of 1977.
On Monday August 15th, 1977 as Ron and the boys were beginning their return leg home from finding Noah’s Ark, a very unusual radio signal was detected from the “Heavens” by the Ohio State University’s Big Ear Radio Telescope based in Delaware Ohio. This radio telescope was one of the first of its type in 1977. Its mission was to scan the frontiers of space, looking for any intelligent, discernable radio signals being emitted from the Heavens. Well wouldn’t you know, a very strong signal was detected by the Big Ear Radio Telescope on Monday August 15th at 10:16 pm eastern time. One that has never been heard since! The signal was so unusual in its strength and unique features that it was dubbed the WOW Signal of 1977. Quoted from Wikipedia it reads– “Astronomer Jerry R. Ehman discovered the anomaly a few days later while reviewing the recorded data. On the computer printout, he circled the reading of the signal’s intensity, “6EQUJ5”, and wrote the comment “Wow!” beside it, leading to the event’s widely used name.”
Converting this supernatural heavenly event (WOW signal) from the time it was being received in Ohio – to the time it was for Ron and the boys in Turkey, it would have been Tuesday August 16th at 6:16 am local time for them. This region of eastern Turkey is 8 hours ahead in time zones from Eastern Standard Time. Ron and his boys would have probably been getting ready to board a train back to Ankara recounting all the unplanned miraculous events of their trip. Some of these miracles included: the boys actually getting passports delivered in the mail the same day there were scheduled to fly out, the Taxi motor stalling in 3 separate locations where rocks were left by the road side that helped to determine where to look for Noah’s Ark, Noah’s homestead and his vineyard. Finally – escaping via their hotel room window by tying bed sheets together – to slither out the window to a roof below and into the dark street avoiding being harmed and robbed by the Turkish locals, who were feverishly trying to break down the hotel room door to gain entry. You can’t make this stuff up! The tales of this trip sound as if it was cast from one of the Harrison Ford’s movies – Raiders of the Lost Ark. With this one exception! It happened in real life!
Back to the WOW signal. The uniqueness and exact timing of this WOW signal in 1977 in conjunction with Ron Wyatt’s first trip to Turkey in search of Noah’s Ark cannot be overstated! The fact that God had given Providence and Favor over Ron and his children while in Turkey goes beyond coincidence. Ron would be used by God over the next decades to reveal some of the most prominent Biblical Events, pinpointing their exact location for today’s generation the Authenticity of the Bible. Ron’s discovering of the Red Sea Crossing of Moses & children of Israel at Gulf of Aqaba. Then Ron would go on to reveal the real location of Mt. Sinai where the 10 Commandments were given. This Sinai Mountain of God is located in Saudi Arabia, and is within proximity of the First Artificial Intelligence city of its kind being constructed today – the city named Neom which means “New Future”. This city has been the pet project of Prince Mohamed Bin Salman since 2015. Finally, Ron shared his incredible adventure of finding the buried location the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem.
All these Biblical Findings by one man is Beyond Coincidence. Unless Ron had an anointing of God on his life. I believe the WOW signal of August 15th 1977, was emitted and echoed in the Heavens to confirm the following statement “Ron Wyatt had an anointing of God – to reveal Historical Biblical Events and Locations – to the last generation of the Age!
I believe the timing of the August 1977 WOW signal, as the Wyatt family was just leaving the city of Dogubeyazit Turkey, one day after finding Noah’s Ark – was not coincidental. I believe it was a God Wink from the Almighty in the Heavens stating “Well done good and faithful servant”. Psalm 19: 1-4 can say it no better than this:
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. Without speech or language, without a sound to be heard, their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
God Bless Ron Wyatt and his families’ efforts to retain and share Ron’s incredible Biblical Discoveries over the last 48 years. Proverbs 16:9 can be spoken over Ron’s life – “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” God definitely ordained Ron’s footsteps.
Now what do we do with all this? Are we in the Days of Noah as Matthew 24 states? Is the soon returning of the Son of Man at hand with all the Biblical Prophecies screaming out to a sleeping generation of people. Maybe 2nd Timothy 3:16 has never been timelier – “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” Maybe reading the Bible, giving your life to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and picking up a book or two from Ron Wyatt might help you make that determination.
